This was great. I love your transparency and honesty about not really able to DO anything other than vote and talk about these things. And I totally relate to getting a balance between no info and doom scrolling!! Love you girl! - Catherine P. S. Excellent piece of writing (and thoughts) April. Many of the thoughts and emotions you expressed match my thoughts and feelings. *** The United States AND the World are in a dangerous / frightening situation (that will last for 4 full years :( ___). ***** I highly recommend that you make an attempt to actually Read LESS news for a while -- due to the potential high level of stress that you (Most Likely) will experience....
Here's a very scary prediction (made by a very intelligent / aware / educated / Experienced (politically / economically / etc.... person ) : The amount of damage that Donald Trump & Elon Musk & their cronies will inflict upon the United State Government traditions / functionality / the Environment (undoing Decades of progress trying to protect & restore the World's environment...) during the 4 years of Trump's presidency May NEVER be undone/corrected/restored.
____Now That sickens me to the Core !!! Future Generations will be negatively affected by billionaire Asshole Narcissistic Trump. ____ :( :( :(
I would wager, the U.S. government will never be the same after this, no matter what. Whatever happens in four years, even with a more far-seeing, responsible government with our population's best interests at heart, something will have to be built from here that is not going back to the way it was. That may not be an entirely bad thing -- but I worry about climate change the most, because that seems where the most irreparable damage can be done. Education is a close second, because underfunded public schooling ---> an uneducated populous ---> loss of knowledge and agency with each each generation.
And yes, I am having to mitigate the flow of news into my brain. There can definitely be too much of it.

Thank you! I appreciate your reminder about the ripples. Sometimes I forget that. Thanks for reading!
Spot on. Incredible article April. It’s like reading a cogent, distilled version of the jumbled thoughts in my head right now.
I’m glad it comes across as cogent, since the thoughts themselves do feel very jumbled. Thanks for reading.
