This meditation on photography’s invisible weight—how a single frame can hold entire lifetimes of love and loss—left me breathless. You articulate that paradox so precisely: the way images freeze time while deepening its passage, how they comfort and haunt in equal measure. A testament to the quiet power of what remains when the moment itself is gone.

I’m 73 and recently removed those first wedding photos from the large bulky heavy white album I’d moved around for almost 53 years. There are some sweet ones of my family and friends, AND the awesome pink and purple paisley bridesmaid dresses! Now there is more room and light. The physical equivalent of the room and light in my heart that came with forgiveness of myself and him many years ago. I love your writing and this one definitely reached a kindred soul. Thank you! 😊❤️

I'm glad to hear from a kindred spirit and glad you found room and light both in your heart and on your shelf. Thank you for reading!

Good Lord you are an amazing writer April! I related so much to this. As always it’s nice to know I’m not alone and to have someone verbalize so eloquently what I don’t have the words for in the end. 💜 Catherine G.

Thank very much!! I'm glad you relate to it. That's one of the main reasons I write here — because I know someone, somewhere is feeling the same thing.
